We pay 4% of our gigantic gross domestic product to protect them, and they will not pay a lousy 2% of their GDP towards their own defense.
The US would spend 3.5% of GDP on defense (that's what it is, BTW. Not 4%) regardless of nato membership.
Obama was the one whom the Left Echo Chamber… Chamber… Chamber never called out for attacking our friends — Israel, Britain, so many others — while cozying up to Hugo Chavez, bowing to dictators, and dancing the tango for Raul Castro. Trump is just the opposite: He knows who the friends are, and he wants to maintain and strengthen those friendships.

I agree in large part that things have to change, but let's not betray our first instincts that the guy who lies about donating to 9/11 charities is going to do anything more than the bare minimum to cash in and stay in office.

Forest fires are scary, do damage, and can become uncontrollable. Nobody likes a forest fire, but they are needed to kill off old growth so that new life can take its place.
He's already damaged both parties. Here's hoping that he leaves them both in shambles. If in 2020 the D and R parties are hollow shells of themselves, I'll call the Trump presidency one of the best of my lifetime.
Hopefully he can accomplish that in 4 years instead of 8.
