removed from heart-lung bypass machine and has done well...still has ventilator for lungs....last night he went back for surgery to remove the tubes gong into his arteries....also did well...had a quiet uneventful night...
surgeon who operated on him sunday said his heart looks much better than when he first came in- more blood flow now I guess.
main issue now is fluid accumlation in lungs and one remaining small clot that surgeon didnt want to attempt to reach back on sunday.
plan for today is continued lung rehab...going to stop the medicine that has 'paralyzed' him and see how he handles less sedation...also going to making adjustments to blood thiner he receives to start treating the clot.
still a ways to go but he is moving in the right direction.
