BATJAC was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant of Air Defense Artillery in the Regular Army and graduated from Auburn University. Left Auburn the next morning en route to Fort Bliss, Texas. The beginning of a remarkable journey through 23 years of active duty, with service across the country and in Korea, Germany, Afghanistan and Iraq. Flight School, Command and General Staff College and a dozen other schools followed. Pile on 15+ years of civil service and I am quickly approaching 40 years of combined federal service. These days there's a lot less hair and a lot more me than in the picture below taken on August 28, 1981. Time marches on.
