"Mrs. Big Joe"

Edited by Author at 2/18/2019 - 3:48 p.m.

turns 90 this week. Body really slowing down but mind as sharp as ever. The twins love listening to her over speaker phone- because of her deep deep southern drawl... and the words she uses. Afterwards they amuse themselves by trying to use words like "Darling, honey, sweet thing, sugar,  yall (which they invariably use wrongly)" and love to hear her say  "Coffee" trying to get her to repeat it as many times as they can.  Lil SG says that her "Meme" is the sweetest sounding thing on earth. I must say I have to agree.

Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandmother of

7 Children

10 Grandchildren

4 great great grandchildren

She grew up a child of the Depression- although her house in an AL mining down (Company town company store) was one of the few with running water- meaning it had a pump on the back porch they could use rather than using the communal well.

The entire clan including children in law and grand children in law, about 30 in all, will descend on Birmingham in March for a delayed birthday gathering.
