The wrestlers and football players put together a load for me to take to hurricane relief. I went to Kroger and finished filling up my truck. The poor springs on my truck were flat but ole Bessie made it. I got there and made the drop-off and was accosted by the WTVY folks and took pictures with the Mayor and some anchorman. After all was said and done they wanted to talk football, high school football. I left there realizing how important high school football is, more important than the NFL or NCAA (in reality all high school sports). People need that normalcy in their life. I realized it after we played post 9'11 but today reinforced it to me. Thought about this the whole way home and I have a new appreciation for the coach dads in the bleachers calling me an idiot every Friday night, at least they care.
