Making some progress with his verbal skills, but still not where a two year old should be- has speech therapist working with him... learning sign language
Height wise- he is in the 65 per centile
Weight wise- 80 per centile
Still has stomach pump and nourishment devices installed- able to be disconnected up to 4 hours now
Bladder has been at 100% since May- docs aint sure ehat thats all about- went from 30% to 100% quickly- but thats a good thing- no more cathering bladder
Children's Hospital hired a doctor a few months ago who specializes in cases such as what Alex has, so later this month, Alex will have a detailed examination of his intestines- take pictures and more importantly determine the amount of activity in his intestines- parts are working just not enough.
The plan is if he has enough of his intestine active, the team will propose removing the dead gut and connecting the active and see what that does.. major surgery so that remains to be seen.
Alex is a beautiful, happy little boy
....and a blessing to all of us.
