Umm no, but "WE" should and by that I mean
We the parents. I've got three and 2 are teenage boys - we are restrictive as to what social media they can have and if they have it, we monitor it. Even after my daughter finished college, had a job, and was out of the house, we still monitor and she gets the ocassional call of "what were you thinking when you posted that"?
Even in the gaming world we watch the boys. Fortnite - I play, I listen as they game with friends, other Dad's do too and the boys know it.
Some parents we know even take it a little further by location tracking all the time on their kids. Last week, I was the pick up parent of 4 boys after football practice. The guys walked down the street from the field to the weight room on campus and were going to come back in about 30 minutes. I stayed where I was, but within 5 minutes got a call from mama Boro saying "so you guys are on your way home?", I said no, why? "Well I was on the phone with blah blah and she said ya'll were leaving school", umm no - the boys are walking down to campus then coming back. I am not that paranoid about my knucleheads, but some folks are.
It is a lot easier today to be stupid than it was 50 years ago in north AL where everybody in town knew who I was and what I was doing. And one last thing - if you are stupid, you can still get a beating in the Boro house.

She lost her right to use an iPhine/iPad for 18 months when she was 12. She recently bought her own iPhone (saved all the money her grandparents gave her plus did horse shit shoveling for dollars)
She announced sunce her was her iPhone M. Hobbes and I had no right to monitor it. I agreed but told her I would disconnect her service and change our WiFi password so she would have a $500 brick.
Guess whose iPhone still gets monitored?
