Jon died Wednesday night after suffering the rigors of cancer. He will be missed.His brother Mike and all his friends and family covet your prayers.

Morgan, Mr. Jon Cameron, 57, a resident of Montgomery, AL and former resident of Tallassee, Al, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. A Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 pm on Friday, August 3, 2012 with a Wake to follow from 6:00 pm, until 8:00 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church Hall, Montgomery, AL. The funeral will be celebrated as a "sung mass" according to the Extraordinary Form (Latin Mass) at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 219 Adams Ave., Montgomery, AL on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 am with Committal to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, AL with Fr. Den Irwin of Troy, AL officiating. The music will be provided by the St. Cecilia Schola Cantorum of Auburn, AL. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary C., father, Spurgeon and brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his brother, Mike, sister-in-law Kathy, nieces Allison(engaged to Dan McClelland) and Ashley (married to Matt Scala), great-nephews Quinn McGuire and Dean Scala, and grand niece Hailey Scala. He also is survived by an extended family: the Cameron Clan which includes numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, his co-workers at the Alabama legislature, and the many close friends that he made during his life. He was a proud graduate of the Tallassee City School system and Auburn University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He considered it a joy and a privilege to work in the Office of the Secretary of the Alabama Senate for nearly 20 years, most recently as Research Director. A very special thank you to Baptist Hospice and to those wonderful people known as "caregivers," Boyd Landry, Steve Wallace, Hatcher Jackson, Clare Watson, and his devoted brother Mike. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be sent in Jon's name to the St. Cecilia Schola Cantorum c/o St. Michael's Catholic Church, 302 East Magnolia Ave., Auburn, AL 36830.

I wish I were as eloquent as my brother Mac, but I will try. Once you befriended Jon, you had a loyal friend for life. This is tough.==============================

I am totally lost as to the social conventions in these situations . . . my natural response is that starring an obit is kinda creepy and mean.  I fully admit I am terrible at these things . . . 

Greatest failure of my webmastering career was not having a backup system on Mudduck I.  Yeah, that will be in my obit . . . which I am sure will get starred as a result.
