Bama, LSU, AU, UGA and the wankers. For the past 20-30 years those have for the most part been quality programs.
Any success by the other 4 schools only makes life harder for the mighty AU Tigers to win rings.
Why a Arky fan for example would root for AU is beyond me.
A 5 star kid with no ties to AU or Arky is going to pick y'all 80% of the time. Cuz kids want to play for winners. The more you win the stronger you get. If you haven't been in the hunt the past 6-7 years kids don't look at you as a top notch school.

Look, I know I may be only speaking for myself. And I don't poast on here very often compared to my time on the VS. Some people don't know me, a few do, and a few may wish I'd buzz off. Oh well. And what the hell is an Arky fan doing on a Gator board let alone an Auburn fanboard in the first place?
I'm a fan of Arkansas, duh. But before declaring my allegiance to a school of "losers", I'm also a person -- a pretty nice person, down to earth, laid back and all that once people get to know the real guy. Sarcastic? Tongue in cheek? Sometimes a pain in the ass, and sometimes I know my message doesn't come across as planned. I take my shots carefully, lurking far more than taking liberties with the keyboard.
Assume for one second that I don't and never had a reason to cheer for Auburn. I mean I am still blessed to have friends and know personal details about a few choice regulars on both boards (B'ham and Bammerfan for one pair of examples here) and I hope I've earned a teensy bit of street cred along the way even though much of my presence here is unnoticed. So be it. I'm honored to have a voice to speak and be heard regardless in lieu of all the other crap that went on in my personal life. But I digress.
Bullish may not get to read this but he knows that I have read his stuff before. Auburn deserves a shot at their second national championship in the BCS era (really third to be technical since the robbery of 2004). I've met plenty of Auburn fans in person and on the net. Good people though, I think, not to put much stock in the few assholes who have tarnished the good natured image of both institutions.
And speaking of image... we're not worried about "oh no we didn't land that 4 or 5 star recruit". You have enough problems to worry about with FSU's image of being a school of thugs, rapists, thieves, drunks, cheaters, idiots (I mean we're talking Vince Young dumb here), and clowns.. especially the clowns. I could go on, but then I'd be confused of being a Gator homer then. I'd rather Arkansas do things the right way, in the right timing and build a solid program than take shortcuts and throw academia out the window as an idol sacrifice to the football gods. Even if it means never winning "the big one" again, I'd rather be a fan of a pretty clean program than FSU's track record (or dare I say Miami?). And before you can even utter it, no program is spotless. Ole Miss is doing just fine and patience is paying off for them finally.
I feel no shame or conflict in putting aside the silly rivalry for a bit and giving approval and support. Why would I do such a thing? True, Top Cat did ask nicely and I feel confident that, if by some string of miracles Arkansas can get its collective fecal matter together and makes a solid run at a spot in the new playoff system, most if not all denizens of this board and VS would throw up a Woo Pig Sooiee on our behalf. Why? We're the SEC, not the ACC. Everybody benefits from the SEC winning bowls -- even lowly pathetic Arkansas. Not every year we suck, once in a while we do ok and everyone benefits off of us. It's fair and that's what being in a real conference is all about. Not our fault ESPN doesn't get it.
But even if you could void all that as a reason, there remains one left and all I need is one.
