"Ok, I went back and re-read his remarks."

Message Replied To ==========

I read his remarks . . . I would be interested in Aubie's take on his remarks

and his being fired by A&E.==============================

First off, I'm a fan of the show.  I think they are a good family and I appreciate the fact that in this world of tawdry reality shows that theirs is a family type show.

Now, what he said.  His beliefs are his beliefs; however misguided they may be.  Beastility has nothing to do with homosexuality.  Nada.  Nor does pedophilia.  Phil said what he said because the show isn't as important to him as his testimony.  They had money before the show and they'll have it afterwards.  I just hope that he was speaking for the family as a whole because otherwise, he's screwed them.  I just can't see Miss Kay making these remarks.

But now, we have the remarks out there.  He's on a TV show and that network has a lot of subscribers that do not feel the way Phil feels.  So, what are they to do?  Capitalism will eventually win out here.   I don't see where A&E had a choice but to suspend him.  Because, they are ahead of the curve when the discussion on blacks enjoying segregation hit the webz, all hell is going to break loose.

Now, the blowback.  Facebook is the Debil.   I have friends from home that are just railing against the 'mos blocking free speech and ruining the world.  I have my 'mo friends that are saying these backwoods neanderthals should be flogged with a dildo (or a blow up doll since he is opposed to the dildo).  Should

At some point, we've all got to sit back and take things at face value.  Am I surprised by what he said?  Absolutely not.  BUT, he has now made Duck Dynasty unenjoyable for me.  I can't watch it with the same enjoyment I once did and that is all because Phil decided to air beliefs that are contrary to my being.

So, the right wingers are pissed, the 'mos are pissed and screaming and I'm just mad because I can't mindless watch "reality" with simple joy.

Oh, and those that say his free speech is being squashed.  No, it isn't.  He said what he wanted to say but ther are always consequences and I'm quite certain Phil doesn't care what those may be.
