"This is the issue I have with the tactic . . . "

I've addressed that issue quite a bit...

concerning your wife and others who have and will be shat upon by the Dear Leader's Greatest Accomplishment. I will caveat that by saying it took place in the Lounge Gasland, and I don't blame you for not venturing over there.

I don't think anyone is looking for a bailout or money, we want the government to not be so dysfunctional and to reign in spending. Just not reigned in at the sole expense of DoD while entitlements explode to historic levels.

Need to make cuts? Fine. Cut away. But cut across the board and not away from me and my family to pay entitlements to people who contribute nothing to the tax pool or society.

while I agree more with the Tea Party people that are doing this . . . on policy and such . . . I disagree on this tactic.  Precisely because of the dynamic it sets up as expressed by you and Gene's post in this thread.  This is NOT good government.  This is no way to run a country.  And despite the characterization of libertarians as wanting NO government, we need government (small and efficient).  We have big issues that need fixing.  However, most of the snotty nosed bitches run from the things that REALLY need fixing.  There is no way for this tactic to work to effect a policy outcome on Obamacare.  All it can do is aid in an election.  So basically we are shatting on people for political theatre.  When those idiots put on their big boy pants and hold up government to actually fix a problem, call me.  Until then they are just a bunch of punks parading around before the cameras and speaking in hyperbole and lies.

If Boner was a real leader, he would send up the bill from the Senate, get it passed, and take his lumps from the Tea Party caucus.  Perhaps he is waiting to do that on the 17th when he can kill both of these bone head things.

I have no philosophical problem with shutting down government, or holding up debt ceilings . . . but it #badword# better be a good reason and there better be a way out if you do it.  I see none of that here.
