No surprise here -- in I COR 1:26 ff the Apostle Paul tell us to expect this. The call of the gospel cuts across all segments and is not just for the few and the elite. In each age there have some -- an Augustine of Hippo, or Thomas Aquinas, Blaise Pascal, John Owen, G.K. Chesterton, Alister McGrath -- of the top of the intellectual heap so that it may not be said that only the dull and slow witted can believe.
