"You can't see the forest for the Auburn colored trees! "
Comment by my wife to me this morning. We were discussing the dismissals from the UAT football program by the 4 wayward young lads, which story was recounted in our paper. I was explaining to her -- yet again -- the evil of Nick Saban and how he is a toxic presence in collegiate athletics. She told me that I would like him if he were at Auburn. I explained to her how this was false, that I would not wish to see him pollute Lee County with his pestiferous presence. That is when she said that I had a form of Auburn blindness and could not see what was clearly true. "you just have grown up loving Auburn and can't see anything but good about it."
I shall remain with this woman and know that her malady is not her fault. She did graduate from Auburn but has often wanted us to talk about re-doing the yard or painting the house or summer plans during a football game. She thinks you (we) at WHAB are all pathetic and strange. But I am not giving up on her. Our anniversary is coming up and I am going to get her some nice Auburn plastic tumblers and coffee cups.
