So. Here I go again to yet another Auburn-Georgia football game in just a few days. I know I've stated on this board previously that I haven't missed the Auburn-Georgia game since 1980, or is it since 1979? because I missed the 1979 game but went to the 1980 game and haven't missed one since then.
Anywho.... I actually thought about not going to the game this weekend.
However, I think I can take one for the team this year. I have seen some mighty good games since 1980. I give 1983 the "Best Game" award... it was wonderful. 1991 gets the "Worst Game" award... even the van carrying "Tiger" to the game had "Eat Me" written in shoe polish on the back windows that year.
I've seen Bo clinch the Heisman. I've seen the Dawg fans get sprayed. Remember Goff telling his players to "stay down"? When Hershel played, someone had a banner hanging from the West Upper Deck of Jordan-Hare that said "Hershel Eats Quiche". (That may have been the same game that Lewis Grizzard was called over the loudspeaker to report to the pressbox.)
For a while there, it was actually more fun to visit Samford Stadium. Remember?
Anyway.... regardless of what else is going on in Washington or Tuscaloser... I still love my Auburn Tigers.... and I will be there to cheer them on Saturday night. What will this make? 33?
