Obviously, not requiring ID's makes it possible for someone to claim to be someone else at the polls. You have not seen this disputed in the Lounge or anywhere else.
What has been stated in the site-of-your-obsession is that this type of voter fraud is so rare as to be insignificant. As a threat to the integrity of elections it is the least of our problems. That has been well documented and is not refuted by some right wing prankster demonstrating the obvious.

Your kindness in extending the touch of understanding and compassion to one such as I -- in my benighted and uncomprehending condition -- moves me to tears. I do not recall that we have ever had an exchange of any type on these boards and for you to extend the hem of your garment to me in this manner tells me all I need to know about you.
But I confess that I am not worthy for you to come under my roof in this manner. So I as have made a policy of never posting in the lounge -- in order to avoid people just like you -- perhaps we should agree to keep that record intact.
