....at least, what I think it refers to. The below is taken from Where Tradition Began: The Centennial History of Auburn Football (Chapter 1, page 4):
"Auburn's mascot was a black boy named Dabble, who wore orange pants, a blue coat and a white sash."
This was in the section talking about Auburn's first ever football game, which happened to be against Georgia. By the way, their mascat was an old goat named Sir Williams, who wore a black coat with 'U.G. in red on the side.
