"The issue for me is fairness. What does a team like Ok St"
|
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT have to do to get in?
You can say "don't lose to ISU", but this is a worthless argument. No other sport on the face of the planet decides who will play in its championship game based on who it lost to.
But, let's for a moment, allow that "who you lost to" is a valid argument. Is that worth more than who you beat? If team A had a tougher strength of schedule than team B, shouldn't that count more than the one loss the two of them share? Or should one loss outweigh an entire season. To weigh the losses so heavily is a very stupid argument.
And what about wins? Let's say we accept that strength of schedule isn't important. Are wins still important? Because there's a team out there with 1 loss that has 1 more win than Bama who is not playing in the championship game. But to argue that they should not be in based on their strength of schedule but that Bama's one loss negates the strength of schedule disparity between it and OK St is to essentially argue A and not-A at the same time.
Anyone with a modicum of critical thinking ability will see this "championship game" for the sham that it is. LSU is the legitimate champion this year. Period. Whoever argues otherwise implicitly admits that they don't understand logic.
