and you know I have this opinion of gus: that he is smart.
but this is only his 6th year out of h-school coaching.
gus knows he has a chance to have a really good future as a hc, but he is smart enough to wait and learn more about being the ceo of a team like AU (and others). he hangs around and learnms more for a few more years and he will be ready to take over somewhere big....not work from nagadoches tech junior college to old dominion to la tech to la state to ole miss to AU (or somewhere else) the sofa is overcrowded with fallen next best ocahc in the whole wide universe faded and is now back at nagadoches tech junior college. gus is smart.
((this is why nfl coaches get retreaded: tehre is no substitute for experience running an nfl team. in 2008 ( i was too lazy to look more than once after i got a hit) the skins did 325m in rev and had 60 m in profit or some accting label and who knows what financial tommfolery these guys operate around. that's a lot of money. would you give that to a newbie? give some guy is big break and the chance to damage something wortth a billion dollars and its revenue stream of a few hundred million dollars.

gus got bumped and is happy and still smart.....is continuing learning the experience of doing something that his peers and competition have been doing for 20 years since they started as junior D grade assistant junior assistant coach and laudnry guy.
I say we get a few more out of gus and thene he's gone. but we still got hime for a few more. and I plan to enjoy it.
as for this year: after last year I don't care. I got one. I got something I have been wanting for decades. and that is so cool. I got something not a lot of people get to experience. I plan to enjoy it and if 2011 is the hangover: well I plan to enjoy it and have a cup of joe and watch some dum movie i have seen on amc 17 times like josie wales with too many commericals suinday and then worry about work on monday on monday morning.
