This team has played like a disorganized team w/ mid range talent. Time for all AUBURN people to be supportive and loyal even as we look at a pretty dismal year.
The younger generation of AU fans has become accustomed to supporting the team because they win instead of supporting them because they are your team. We have AU ties and therefore we support our team. Other teams pile up the front running, band wagon riding, sunshine fans who are there because -- and only because -- the team wins. Like parasites they suck significance from the fortunes of the exploits of 19 yr old young men on 11 Saturdays.
AU fans can and do thrill to the successes that come to the team but our loyalty is deeper than that. A season like this one must not diminish the support and commitment we have for all things AUBURN. Our team is in need of that in even greater measure in seasons like this and we must not be found wanting. This is the year for banners, flags, caps and t-shirts.
(Those fans trained by a limitless number of basketball seasons are best prepared to lead in this hour)
