Now you see why we tutor you so long in the spring and summer, why we work you so hard in the winter writing lab. I mean, you could feel it on the board this month. Nobody caring who had the best question; nobody caring who had the best answer. But everybody writing with one heartbeat.

Every tutor, every statistician -- proud to be associated with you. You remember me telling you in August that I didn't have a speech ready for losing Iggy's trivia this year. Like the ole saying goes, sometimes the ink just runs out on you. But I appreciate you thinkin' and scribin' the way you did without him. If you keep writin' like that, you will lay a foundation that we can trivialize for a long time at the University of Auburn.
Our dang little ole lead writer had a plagiarism charge against him, but when it was 4th and three and we had to have it, he wrote Newell and Russell and we kept popping em with questions!
I don't know how many of your National Merit Finalists turn out to be great college writers, Paul, maybe 50%. Rheta Grimsley was not that highly recruited in high school. People thought the only ability she had to write was availability.
Iggy told me he was coming to Auburn to write and we shook hands on it. We never discussed it again until the day he signed. His mama didn't like some of the things being written other places.
There's just something special about Auburn trivia, Phil. I mean, you can feel it when you are at other schools, but you can't understand it until you come here. It's easy to recruit kids to write for Auburn.
