needs to be done"

I wonder why?   Why is the rivalry becoming volatile now?  In the 50s, 60s and 70s there were no incidents of vandalism and the matter never moved beyond talk.

Because Bama was dominant in those years.  They were winning MNCs (at the rate of 2 or 3 per year it seems) and had winning strings of 6 and 9 years, dictated the venue for every game and controlled recruiting.  The trouble seems to have started when Auburn began to win more that we lost, demanded that we play our own home games in our own stadium, had our own run of 6 straight wins, had undefeated seasons and capped that off w/ the comeback win in Tuscaloosa and the win in Arizona.  In the last 30 years AU has won more of these games than we have lost.  As long as Auburn kept to the assigned place and agreed to play the role of good natured loser there were no real problems.  So I wonder where the trouble is coming from, who might be causing it and what might be a reasonable solution?
