1. These are grown ass men we are talking about and they can say what they want.
2. I would hope that Auburn would see to it that a players experience was so good that they buy into (are "All In") the university and not just their coach. Clearly these two players hold their relationship with Trooper above their relationship/esteem for their university. THAT is a UT problem not a Trooper problem.
3. Don't see how this is unethical or illegal. Every person that knows me knows that I am going to promote AU to anyone that will listen. I would hope my coaches would do the same. You can bet that any coach that has had a close relationship with a former player has called that player and said "Hey, you know so and so, give him a call and tell him how much we would love to have him at __________University." If that former player, from another school, is willing to make that call then that says something about how they feel about their time at that school. Therefore it's not a coach issue is a university issue. I love seeing current and former AU players say War Eagle or talk about the Auburn Family but I am sure there are plenty that would call and have called recruits and badmouthed us.
5. My hope is that when Trooper leaves AU and wants a former player to endorse his new school that the former AU player would say "I love Auburn too much to do that, Coach Troop." If the player doesn't.....then that's an AU problem.
4. This to me is a non-story. But that has never stopped record setting threads in the past on every message board I have ever visited.
