That is why the savvy Bama party line is: we are great when at full strength but had an unfair schedule (too many tough road games against teams with open dates prior to playing the Tahd).
I like this one because it combines truth (road games were tilted toward the difficult and there were a bunch of open dates before folks played Bama) with the completely unsupportable inference that changes to those facts results in a championship season. It also opens the door for the "everybody hates us cause we're so awesome" line of whining, which is my favorite kind.
But it clear that once again the SEC (and the NCAA and other forces) are conspiring against Bama. Given their performances against Sparty and Joe Pa this year, perhaps the old "we should leave the SEC" cry should go up again. They could join the Big Ten-Eleven-Twelve-Thirteen. Jim Delany can rename the divisions "Liars" and "Legends."
