a potential problem with younger folks, and some adults, with the internet, text style of communication is the difference between insults and criticism.
I have been called arrogant 18,545,673 times, a fag 102,771 times, a douche 56,893 times, an asshole 249,920 times, jackass 47,337 times, fwad 32,655 times and there are 187,303 others lesser know such as pancake fluffer, shoe horn and more than are too much for here. (I keep track, I am retentive about some things.)
I have been insulted numerous times on the net. But never criticized. People are quick to call me names, but are afraid to criticize. I have never heard that 'your poast/comment was a bit over the top and kind of hurtful. You might want to not call all green people 'boogers'. '
All I get is, "you're an arrogant jaqckass asshole douche who molests collies"
people who communicate too much on this instant email, text world are losing the skill in how to deal with people. And they are losing how to deal with genuine criticism. And when someone does come to criticize after a life of insults - they take the good intentioned criticism as an insult.
Boss: "Gee there new employee. You are spending too much time viewing porn at work, and your productivity is falling. And all the girls are creeped out by you wathcing porn and then going to the bathroom, to, what we can only assume, is to fire off some knuckle children. I think it would be better for us if you ceased that activity and spent more time and energy on your work chores."
New Employee: "Yes sir."
New employeee facebook poast: :My boss is a nazi. I cannot believe this f$%^wad is a boss. How did this limp tooled mofo get to be boss. I could do his job better than him and I have only been here two weeks. hahahaha....lolololol. He's a child molester anyway. asshole."
Criticism is good. Insults are useless.
