Your OC didn't shut down the offense. The wide receiver screens and quick hitches you ran in the first half to Julio, Hanks and Ingram (lined up wide) for a million yards did not work in the second half. AU's pass rush was much better in the second half, too, so the mid-range passes that worked for long gainers because of good runs by the receivers were harder to come by. Your guy ran the same plays. They just didn't work and you had no running game to fall back on. You also had fewer opportunities because AU's offense got in gear.
The only "missed opportunity" by Bama I saw was Richardson's drop that could have made it 28-0, which was admittedly huge. The two fumbles were clearly forced by AU's good play. They were forced turnovers, which have been part of the game forever. Auburn made plays; Bama didn't give them anything. The AU stand after the fumbled punt was another case of AU outplaying Bama at a key juncture. There was nothing lucky about it. AU made plays. Nicky's celebrated 5-stars didn't.
You lost at home to a better team. And made history in the Process. Live with it.
And if you don't like hearing War Eagle from strangers, don't wear your ugly Tahd hat inside. Hell, even the Bahr himself took off that hounsdtooth monstrosity in the Superdome.
have said a lot of words about our #badword#ing OC shutting down the offense in the second half and have said a lot of words about missed opportunitties in the first half.
