"the year I got drunk and almost married debbie harry."

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN:
END OF CONTEXT

when does a party turn into a drunk turn into a week?

how do weeks turn into more than a month. I really don't know when the

line was crossed from having a real PARTAY  into something else.

Is it when you take a drink with you to the shower? beer doesn't work

here. Gets too warm too quickly.  you could chug it but that defeats the

purpose: if you're going to get drunk for a year - you are in no hurry.

scotch or bourbon really works best. the ice melts and the glass gets

all condensationey. You know you're drinking more than a day at a a time

when you start making up words like that and then try to insert them

into every conversation you have. "look debbie, the windows are all

condensationey! isn't that cool?" As she sleeps, or pretends to sleep

not wanting to talk to you.

I think it is when you take a drink with you almost everywhere you go.

You start permanently carrying one of those red or blue plastic dixie

cups with you everywhere. I preferred the red because it helped in

relocating my drink after diffusing my short term recall memory

function.

I think that's the sign: the red dixie traveler always in hand.

Anyway, the year was some year in the 1990's. I was single back then and

playing for a band out of new york, Craven A. I knew them from FLA and

grew up with one of the founders. We were a GREAT COVER BAND. Our own

material; while GREAT in OUR MINDS, sucked OUTSIDE of that sphere.

I think the name is why we broke up. It is named after some obscure

brand of cigarettes. And one third of the people thought we were a gay

party band because at the time in the gay culture in ny that was code

word for random sex with some dude.  we did not know that. We were

wrapped up in our own selfish little world of: well, not much. trampy

whore groupies, too much alcohol and too many cigarettes, bad guitar

playing and self denial/delusion about some of our talent base. but

alcohol help overcome most of the objections we had, real or imagined,

to our many shortcomings or deficiencies that may have (ok: DID)  exist

We did get some great paying gigs from that segment of the population.

but some of their party scenes were downright scary.  Imagine a fat

hairy fireman dancing with dude who looks like rosie odonnel.

ewh....wish I had never seen that.

Did meet boy/girl George once. he was a prick. well, he wanted one too.

but he was a prick. I punched him. he was drunker than I.  well, he was

drunk and wasted and was prolly on some random drug:

(pictured above: random drug)

Me, I just had my lil red traveler.

Anyway, we were playing some crappy paying gig in Crown Heights (we did great p tosh and really greaty bob marley: really: GREAT) and during
