Even though it’s not strictly football, I’ve had several questions about which SEC school owns the most national championships in men’s sports following South Carolina’s win at the College World Series on Tuesday. 

Thanks to the SEC office, we have the answer. 

Please keep in mind that the national championships listed are those recognized by the SEC and only includes those titles won by schools as SEC institutions. 

Anyway, here you go: 

Arkansas: 30 
  • 11 in outdoor track (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005), 11 in indoor track (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006), seven in cross country (1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000), one in basketball (1994).
LSU: 20 
  • Six in baseball (1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009), four in outdoor track (1933, 1989, 1990, 2002), four in golf (1940-tie, 1942-tie, 1947, 1955), three in football (1958, 2003, 2007), two in indoor track (2001, 2004), one in boxing (1949).
Florida: 12 
  • Four in golf (1968, 1973, 1993, 2001), three in football (1996, 2006, 2008), two in basketball (2006, 2007), two in swimming (1983, 1984), one in indoor track (2010).
Georgia: 10 
  • Six in tennis (1985, 1987, 1999, 2001, 2007, 2008), two in golf (1999, 2005), one in football (1980), one in baseball (1990).
Auburn: 9 
  • Eight in swimming (1997, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009), one in football (1957).
Alabama: 8 
  • Eight in football (1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009).
Tennessee: 8 
  • Three in outdoor track (1974, 1991, 2001), two in football (1951, 1998), one in indoor track (2002), one in swimming (1978), one in cross country (1972).
Kentucky: 7 
  • Seven in basketball (1948, 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998).
Ole Miss: 1 
  • One in football (1960).
South Carolina: 1 
  • One in baseball (2010)
Tulane: 1 
  • One in tennis (1959-tie)

According to documents released Tuesday, the NCAA in responding to Alabama's textbook appeal called Alabama a "serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA."
