Assuming my math is correct, Ben Tate is now the 5th leading rusher in Auburn football history with 2815 yards. He trails only Bo, Carnell Williams, James Brooks and Joe Cribbs. To move into 4th by the end of the regular season, he would have to average 111 yards per game over the last 5 games. This is a tall order given some of the defenses Auburn will be facing, but not out of the realm of possibility.
Tate is an extremely underrated player in my view. Yes, he has had 3 fumbles this year near the goal line (2 of which were lost), but he plays with great effort, can run inside and outside, and is well-rounded -- a good blocker on pass plays and a serviceable receiver.
I will miss seeing him play for Auburn after this season, but I don't think his football days are over.
