I am in the Auburn Marching Band and I am calling out my fellow fans. Not only was I disappointed in the team, but I was also disappointed in the fans in the stadium.
When a Kentucky player was down with a hurt knee, I heard AU fans boo and scream to keep things going. No respect to someone who was rolling on the ground in agony. What are we, bad UGA fans? I thought we were a different caliber of honor and respect. Not a clap was heard, cept from the band and a few photographers, when the player was helped off the field.
No cheering, roaring stadium to support our defense [who actually did not suck and had a mediocre game]. I heard better last year when we were not doing well. Also, the amount of people who left when we were 14-7 before the first half was over was astounding. Yes, it was moderately cold, but on the field it was even worse. From the trashy fans I saw last night, I was not proud to associate with them.
I know that the game was unpleasant to watch, but please retain the class that Auburn is known for! I'm proud to wear my uniform for Auburn and to show support for my team. Please all AU fans, keep it up! Keep the spirit for the team even when we're not doing well. They need us fans! Shed the rotten attitude and continue our tradition of infallible support.
