The rushing yardage was similar, but last year Todd was 9-18 for 70 yards, 1TD and 1 int. This year, 17-26, for 255, 2 TDs, 0 ints. Also, two of our TDs came on special teams and defense. I don't remember exactly (as I have tried to completely erase all of last season from memory), but I seem to remember that the offense looked like crap. The only reason we put up any numbers was that ULM was a really #badword#ty team, and they just couldn't stop the run. Now, I'm not under any delusion that La Tech is great, but they are certainly better than #badword#. They did return 16 guys off a team that a.) won a bowl (however meaningless it was) and b.) beat our next opponent by 8 points (more than we managed to beat them by). After one week I can say this much for certain, it appears that this year's version of offense actually has a purpose when they are out on the field, other than to help sell video tapes out of the back of someone's station wagon.
