of course comes from the fact that you have a good understanding of the argument historically. One wonders if the proponents of the expanded version, Hamilton, would approve of just how far we have expanded this loophole. Certainly Madison and Jefferson would be horrified by what we have. However beyond those considerations . . . the chillean universe is absent economic and fiscal realities. The fact is we cannot afford to provide healthcare to everyone, of every age, to the fullest extent of our technology. No country on the planet is. No country on the planet is doing this despite the BS told to the world at the Lounge. We are already somewhere between 60 and 100 TRILLION dollars in debt as a country . . . more than the assets of every man, woman and child in the country. Now we are going to add another entitlement that will not add more to the debt and provide better healthcare to all Americans than they get right now? I mean does anyone besides the party faithful really believe that? Do you? We are already mortgaging the future of every child in the country to provide retirement, welfare, warfare, and healthcare to some portion of the population. This is what the "general welfare" loophole has wrought . . . the ability of the people to vote in other people who will provide them goodies at taxpayer expense . . . and we creative modern Americans even went one further by putting the bill on taxpayers yet born.
