I didn't think anyone in their right mind would vote for Bush in '04, unitl the Dems couldn't come up with anyone better than Kerry.
2012 is far away. Unless the polls are being run by individual states, they are virtually meaningless. As discussed here a couple days ago, most of the states who went for McCain voted for him by a wide margin; 55% or more. If those states are even more solidly GOP in 4 years, then who cares?
Anyway, in 4 years the Dow will be somewhere around 12,000 or more, jobs will be returning, and Universal Healthcare will no longer even be on the table. We'll be back to talking about ways to save Social Security, and things won't seem nearly as bleak.
