with the fail safe plan that she will be caught by her 17 yr old colleagues before she crashes into the floor.

I had a daughter who did this "sport" for 2 years.   i learned that there are cheerleader competitions.  No kidding.   They do not go to cheer for an actual team playing an actual game but just cheer toward a crowd made up of parents sitting and watching cheer leaders cheer -- even tho there is no game  of any kind going on. 

so we would go and my wife would have me carry our stuff into the gym and then she would put duct tape on my mouth so I would not say things like -- Where is the team that we are to cheer on to victory?   And so i could not say what I thought grown ups sitting and watching cheer leaders cheer for no reason other than to cheer.
