You've posted many things over the years that I'm sure people figure you can't possibly really believe. Does that mean you are being "intentionally stupid"? You only have that viewpoint because you are in strong disagreement with the other party's argument.
As far as Lounge arguers never really addressing counter points, well, surely you've noticed that's a common tactic with other posters there as well, including conservative ones, so why call out Chill as so different? As far as "repeating the same arguments ad naseum", that's just the natural poster reaction when the SAME topic keeps coming up again and again. When some issue hits the daily news, or the topic gets brought up on the board (especially with the opposing viewpoint), it's only natural he'll reiterate his viewpoint again, since it's a discussion board about political topics.
I don't visit this board that often, but as you know, the healthcare topic is a hot-button of mine. If I visit here and see other posters AGAIN demonizing the concept of nationalized healthcare, it's only natural for me to state my own view again. But it's not like I've ever STARTED a thread on healthcare over here, out of the blue (at least I don't think I have). But I get attacked for "repeating" my viewpoint again, when I'm really only responding to someone repeating THEIR (opposing) view AGAIN. It's the nature of the game, and IMO you are only harshing on Chill because you are diametrically opposed to his viewpoints.
As far as your comments on the relative intelligence of the posters, (which, why you do dat?), well, beside the whole "talking behind their backs" issue.... there are PLENTY of "educated" derilicts who, despite their supposed superior intellects, come up with some really boneheaded concepts. Like that Obama scientist cat that wants to spew sulfur into the atmosphere to eliminate global warming. That fellow's intellectual credentials are superb, I'm sure. Evaluate the philosophy, not the philospher.
RE: The term I use to describe a person like Chill is"intentionally stupid." He says things that you know he can't possibly believe, but he simply refuses to give even an inch. I've seen threads in the lounge where he argues and argues and argues often repeating his argument ad nausea without ever addressing the counter points.It drives me insane. After Chill I'd say Native is the next worst. He's smarter than she is in my opinion.
