I cheer big time for Florida, right after my Utes. But Utah deserved at least a chance. Maybe we would have been exposed against Florida, would have liked to had the chance.
You can downgrade our schedule all you want, but the MWC was an underratted conference, and again we beat 4 top 25 teams the same as Florida.
But bottom line is this. You shouldn't be outraged by a banner that WAB posts. You should be outraged by a system that doesn't settle matters on the field. Only NCAA sport that doesn't.
I say the same thing now as I said in 2004. I would love for the chance for Utes to get "exposed" by the big boys. In Utah's history, I have seen them come out on the shortend of plentty of whuppings. Yet, as bad as that sucks, nothing is bad or as frustrating as not getting that chance. If we get blown out or exposed, so be it.
But bottom line is this. We beat 4 ranked teams. The team that beat USC, the team that went undefeated in SEC regular season and gave Florida's it best game, a 7th ranked TCU, and a 21 st ranked BYU. When we put Michigan on the schedule, who would have ever guessed they would be this bad considering they have been one of the top 2 programs in the Big 10 for decades.
Utah did everything it could on the field and in scheduling. And while I am ecstatic for Florida and Urban Meyer, that does not make the system any less of a fraud.
