"SEXTON. Sexton knows the economy stinks and the ND job is the last"

MONSTER that can be bagged before it's Gone with the Wind for agents. Sexton is going for the final green. Notre Dame is going to go closer to 10M per than 5 per for the right coach. Saban is VERY uncomfortable at Bama. He was a clean coach in previous stops (he won what he won in the midwest with leftovers that Bo, JoePa, Notre Dame and Ohio State passed up) and he didn't have to cheat at LSU because that state is loaded and only has one SEC school. He cannot win at Bama YEAR IN YEAR OUT without cheating because even Bear Bryant admitted that his schedule/system could not be replicated. THAT is the difference between Bama and LSU, LSU doesn't have the alum scheme cheating set ups like the rest of the SEC. Not because they are better people, but because of the fact that they sit on 30 solid SEC caliber players every year. It's like asking Bill Gates not to pick pockets. Sociology time Saban is from a coal mining state in the midwest Appalachia (West Virginia). That is his mental makeup. Partying is a glass of wine at Sunday dinner at the in-laws house and maybe a beer or two with the brothers-in-law. The Cajuns were his dream as far as football goes---they are total barbarians and they can be marshalled into a football machine...ON THE FIELD.......but afterwards, they want to put the music on and eat and dance and raise hell. They are good people. Saban is from the KRAUT midwest. He's planning next year's recruiting class the same night he's winning a title. Plus---he wanted the MOUNTAINTOP, the National Football League....and that's like going from flyfishing to deep sea trolling... So, he books to Miami and gets a schmuck team and he realizes that this is THE LEAGUE and he has MR BONG, Ricky Williams, at tailback and an Ivy Leaguer at QB. NOT GOOD. Meanwhile, the University of Alabama is to the point of making virgin sacrifices, if they had any, into a volcano, if they had one, in order to not lose a record 6th straight time to Tommy Tuberville, who has taken the old Bum Phillips statement about Bear Bryant of "He can take hissen and beat yorn, and take yorn and beat hissen," and said BEAR THIS BAMA. So Nick Seven leaves HELL in Miami for Purgatory in Tuscaloosa and he has pushed rocks for two years. He has suffered. It did not cut him to the core when LSU beat him last year, but it hurt him ineffably when they questioned his integrity. For a reason. Nick Saban's excellence as a coach is that his teams AVOID MISTAKES. BUT, Nick Saban made a MISTAKE in leaving LSU and if he could undo that one MISTAKE he would in a heartbeat. He cannot deal with the mixed emotions of LSU-Bama every year. His soul is in Baton Rouge (Saban is a Catholic and he knows he lied to LSU and wronged them). Meanwhile he is in Tuscaloosa. He is in a no win situation. It's like that old movie DAMN YANKEES, and Nick is not going to snag that Texas Leaguer without a helping HAND. GOD understands all of this. That is why HE is GOD. But, tomorrow a familiar voice will come on the radio. It will be SHANE and he will tell PAUL that everything is great. PAUL will agree. The name PAUL originated from someone who persecuted the wrong side but eventually got thing right. Later in the week, a woman from a small town on the plains of Alabama will put one sleeveless blue vest onto a bed in preparation for its being placed into an overnight bag. She has done this for a decade and she will probably give brief pause and wonder if it is the last time she does this, in this color, in this town. Then, the lid will be shut. This is the most important college football game of the year.
