Here is my story: moved to NW Alabama when I was 9. Soon thereafter, moved to Pell City (when I was almost 11). My Dad's side of the family were all (save 1 intelligent couple) bammer fans and big donors to the bammer AD. Couple of them had periodic lunches with the Bahr. My first college FB game was a bammer game at Lesions Field (still remember smelling urine as we were walking in) when I was 10. They took me up to the fence to see the Bahr standing at the goalpost before the game. They presented him as a god. They took me to the Bahr's gravesite the day after his funeral. They gave me bammer Coke bottles, a bammer clock with Big Al in the middle and a bammer shirt and hat. But God smile on me and one of my first friends in Alabama was the son of an Auburn alum. The first memory I have of pulling for Auburn was the '82 Iron Bowl: AU-23, bammer-22. I loved Bo. I love Orange and Blue. I love Dye. And as every new kid in the state must do, I chose a side - Auburn it was. And the disgust for all things crimson and white grew from that day on.
DO I REALLY NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY I BECAME AN AUBURN FAN?
