But hear me out........I'm just saying that the Dems saw the last Cong. Election as their mandate to carry forward their ideals.
The Dems seem to be saying that the desenters should fall in, yet in fact, if the their ( I am including Bush in with the Dems on this issue) Bailout Plan is so important, why don't they just do it?
I keep hearing that this bailout is critical to the economy. If some Repubs and some Dems have problems with the Bailout, I want to hear those reservations. (Personally, I have more than reservations. I detest bailing the banks out on the backs of the taxpayers.)
As I said before, it's a big #badword# sammich and I don't want to take a bite. Leave that to the banks and lawmakers that got us to this point.
IMO, such a bailout moves us dangerously closer to a socialist/marxist state with the Gov. controlling yet another facet of our way of life. I applaude the Repubs and Dems that are not yet caving to such a rush to yet another Gov. Control. Perhaps they simply want to come up with a better solution
Dems should show leadership and pass the Bailout and go it alone. If they truly believe that this is the best option, and they have the mandate, why not do it? Or do they have some reservations about the Bailout and are using dissenter interference as their out?
Seems disingenious for the Dems to blame the Repubs (and others) when in fact they can pass this without them (assuming they can).
From your response, I gather that this is more politically based than actually solving a problem. But I think we knew that all along.
