"OK, Let's Assume For The Sake Of Argument That ..."

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN:
END OF CONTEXT

Kodi's stats must be discounted. We also will ignore your somewhat adolescent mischaraterizations of my previous points. You brought statistics into the mix, not I.* And let's also assume that 3.5 games of Todd's college career is enough to make a definitive conclusion ( a point I am not willing to concede, except for the sake of argument). What empirical evidence can you point to to support the "Burns is the second coming of Dameyune Craig" argument? That he is fast and athletic and has a strong arm? If strong, fast and athletic were the sole criteria, then David Greene  and Danny Weurffel would not have played much. The history of the SEC is replete with fleet footed, strong armed QBs collecting splinters on the pine. Franklin, Tuberville and others have way more data. Maybe they are completely clueless, but I know that coaches like to win and seldom deliberately bench better players unless there is a good reason to do so (see Chris Slaughter, apparently).

I will repeat: I am not arguing that Todd is great. His stats are mediocre so far. They may get better. He may never be able to play much better. I have seen some improvement from the fist game, but that is my view. It is just not at all clear to me that Kodi is the better full time option. In fact, I have very little confidence in his ability to stay away from mistakes, based on what I have seen this year and last. Again, I would like to see him get his feet wet against conference opposition. I think the best way is in red zone packages and on the plus side of the field as a change up, but I am not a football coach.

I do know enough about football to realize that your thesis that Franklin is not qualified to be an SEC level OC (I amended it because he was successful as a D-I OC -- contrary to your original view) after four games at Auburn, when our only loss is by one score to a favored defending national champion, is ridiculous. It lacks all elements of a reasonable argument: reliable data and logic being the primary failures. It may prove true ultimately, but right now it is a ridiculous claim precisely because it is a premature claim.

It is an internet message board, so be as premature and ridiculous as you would like. You will get the last word. I am going to go give singing lessons to my pig.

*Todd has no chance to be Tebow or Stafford. Those guys are pros. But looking at the QBs who are rated ahead of him statistically, I think I would take him over Smelley, Casey Dick, and Chris Nickson. So, I have to agree with the poster above who claims you overstate Todd's stinkiness.

Then you must think Keiland Williams is the best QB in the SEC.

Note where Todd lands on this chart vs. the other QBs with significant playing time.
