CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT Funny how you never hear the woman working down at the cheese plant castigated for letting her four kids ride the bus home to an empty house while her husband is changing oil in other peoples' SUV at the Jiffy Lube all day.
I have complete strangers tell me that I should take off more time to spend with my kids. The 8 women who depend on me to make them a living probably would prefer that I not.
On the flip side, my husband has been semi-laid off and is only working 2 days a week right now. Everyone seems to think he should be filling out apps at McDonalds and Wal-Mart...anything to get a paycheck. HELLO???? He can help with math homework and fold laundry just as well as I can. So three work days a week, he's a stay-at-home dad. This set-up seems to be working for us, but a large number of people still want to tell us how we're doing it all wrong.
