Of course, now it's easy to disown Bush/Cheney, but Republicans were in charge of virtually every aspect of government -- the house, the senate, the executive, the military, the politicized justice department, judicial appointments -- and McCain represents that intransigience, that incompetence, those widespread failures. Nothing short of removal of Republican dominance can rescue the good name of the nation, extract us from failed international positions, renew the war on terror at its base, and give the majority of citizens of this country that rational, knowledge-based decisions are taking precedence over narrow, ideological, lapel pin jewelry issues.
