"Joe, Joe, Joe -- how fortunate that "
|
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT
you went back to school, lived on a shoestring, and put in the hours and work to get a degree. And you were fortunate to take the risk to begin your own business, to get up early every day for -- how many years -- and go to work. How fortunate that you did not stay home on days you were sick, days you had stayed up too late the night before, days when you would rather go fishing or just sit in the shade and watch the day go by. And you were fortunate that you made sure the work was not just done but done well. How fortunate that you kept promises to customers and were dependable so that you had contracts to work on. Fortune seems to wear the clothing of early rising and long days at work.

--
The moment you step into a world of facts, you step into a world of limits. You can free things from alien or accidental laws, but not from the laws of their own nature. You may, if you like, free a tiger from his bars; but do not free him from his stripes. Do not free a camel from the burden of his hump: you may be freeing him from being a camel. G. K. Chesterton
