Great job LSU on keeping the MNC trophy where it belongs...the SEC.
One thing we learned in all of this is that strength of schedule does not matter in the BCS. We were told it did in 2004, but this year proves it does not. OSU did not beat a team ranked in the top 20. Not one. Hawaii had no business in the Sugar Bowl. Illinois had no business in the Rose Bowl.
I think it's a crime against nature that OU & OSU remain in the final top 10, but I predict that crimes will continue as OSU will be highly ranked next year.
I rant about this crap as much as anybody, but it's simply about money and selling advertising. The media (read primarily E$PIN) wants the nation engaged in all of college football and even though will genuflect to the SEC when they have to, they pump up these teams all across the nation to keep people simply tuned in.
Can we please stop about the Big 10/11? OSU is 0-9 against the SEC. They have been absolutely horse whipped in the past 2 MNC games by far superior SEC teams. The same teams that all of us in this conference play every week.
The SEC has 6 coaches that have won recent mythical national titles. Spurrier, Saban, Miles, Fulmer, Meyer, and yes Tuberville gets credit IMHO for 2004. No one else comes close. The fact is that in any measurement, there is the SEC and then there is everybody else. It is no longer even disputable.
This will sell in the southeast, but it won't sell nationwide where other conferences have one or maybe 2 teams that would rank 5 or 6 in the SEC, so be prepared for more BS by E$PIN so everyone will "stay tuned".
