"I had 'The Talk' with my little girl yesterday...."

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN:
END OF CONTEXT

she's just 12, going on 18, and coming into her own as a barner farm girl.

Seems that this other typical bammer snot nosed brat has been talking smack to her the last few weeks about bammer and their 12 championships and the fact Auburn has NONE, not even an SEC championship, tradition, class, etc. Yes, really, ...I started laughing a little when she began telling me this stuff, but she let me know that this really happened and it really bothered her.

So I began to set some of this stuff straight and reminded her she'd witnessed one SECCG already but she didn't really understand all that back in '04. I told her about the honorable Shug Jordan, the fearless Pat Dye and the old drunk cheater that the brats Dad still worships (big local REC member where the brat gets all this from, I didn't know this until last night). I explained to her what I lived through when I was her age in the '70's and how it only made me a stronger Auburn fan and fostered my hatred for all things bammer.

It wasn't until we had this conversation that I realized she doesn't know how it feels to lose to bammer (snicker,...LOL). I know she doesn't remember ever having lost to them, because I asked her. When I counted the number of wins that the cheaters ran off in the '70's she was surprised.

I advised her to play it cool and let the little brat have her say and remain steady. Win or lose, just take as it comes and you'll never have to eat crow. She said she wasn't really worried because last time the bammers quit. (she's talking about the last time she saw the game, in Auburn...'05). After all that, she just wanted to know if we could make Tiger Walk this game, since we hadn't done that this year. I promised her that we would make in time for this game ;-).

She sent me this picture in a text message the other day....really.

I'm very proud of her.

Got 12? Neither do you....

"It marks the first national championship for Alabama, which has a rich bowl tradition dating back to the 1920's, but the Crimson Tide finished second in 1945 and has been in the top 10 the last two years."----------Montgomery Advertiser, 12/10/61
