CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT TUCKER DISMISSED FROM TEAM
Fayetteville (AP): Walk-on quarterback Austin Tucker has been dismissed from the University of Arkansas football team for violation of team rules. Tucker was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol charges early Friday morning by Fayetteville police. According to Coach Houston Nutt, Tucker's arrest is a direct violation of Nutt's long standing "do-right rule." Coach Nutt stated, "We are extremely disappointed to have to dismiss Austin Tucker from our football team, extremely disappointed. We just cannot tolerate violations of the law. When one player starts doing that, it filters to the whole team. I always tell my guys to make good decisions, good decisions. We hate to lose Austin, as we expected him to do great things this coming season, great things, but you've got to be consistent in enforcing your rules, got to be consistent."
HARRISON TO RETURN FOR ALABAMA GAME
Fayetteville (AP): Senior defensive lineman Marcus Harrison will return to action for Arkansas in time for its September 15th game versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. Harrison has battled back from an injury suffered in spring practice, and has completed all disciplinary measures required by Coach Nutt for his recent arrest on felony drug charges. "Boy, we're glad to have Marcus back for next Saturday," Nutt said. "He's done everything we've asked of him, and you can just tell he's a different man, a new man. Marcus made some errors in judgment, but he's paid the price for his mistakes, a heavy price. We love Marcus, and we're not going to throw him away. He needs his football family to help him through this difficult time."
