1. It was a stupid arrest
2. College boys (yes, even non-athletes) do this type stuff all the time. I did it.
3. Boys around this age do not have a fully developed frontal lobe. They WILL do stupid things.
4. There was no need to arrest this kid. Arresting a a kid (who by all accounts is a good kid) for something as stupid as this is the surest way to put him on the path to crime rather than to deter him from it.
5. I wonder if the cop would've gone so far as to arrest a bunch of white college kids yelling obscenities at 2AM in front of a college bar.
6. If it were my kid on my team (an all around good kid who just got his fanny scared off by a Barney Fife cop), I'd consider the arrest ordeal enough.
