Just woke up and checked the board. For some reason, the music and the lack of icons really made Jeremy's death sink in. My fiance' asked me where the music was coming from and I explained it was for Jeremy and that today was his funeral. She was already aware of the situation and the outpouring of support from this and other boards for Jeremy and his family. When I explained the reason for the changes to the board she was moved, to say the least.
As I was reading his obituary on nola.com she asked me to read it aloud to her. As I did so, I got choked up and became a little misty eyed. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. It is just an awful shame that a bright young man felt that suicide was the best solution. If he only knew how much he was loved and cared for by his family, friends, the members of this board, and others.
Jeremy, you were one of a kind and will be missed. Rest in peace brother.
