They used to have it going on but now they suck..........
Shoney's used to be on top of their game and experienced considerable growth and success during the 70s and 80s.(bammmer-99 national championships).
They were a close knit family and tried to promote from within (the bammer list goes on and on with people that "had a connection").
They were reluctant to hire qualified black people (Sylvester Croom).
They were embroiled in several major scandals and lawsuits that cost them tons of money and prestige and eventually led to their downward spiral (pick a bammer coach).
They were very shortsighted when they should have been focused on the long-term (bama thinks that after the crippling blow of probation, several rebuilding years are unreasonable).
The quality of their product deteriorated (ya following me here)
Their entrenched redneck leadership was not replaced and the downward spiral worsened (bammer BOT, prez, and alumni)
Hegemony and market share deteriorated to the point that Shoney's was barely surviving (see bammer)
They experienced an incredible amount of turnover which eventually sealed their fate (you get the idea)
