I use bammer out of derision for the way I heard mouth breathing rednecks pronounce it growing up. I never really had occasion to discuss other schools till I came here. I was unaware of the terms some people use. I had never even heard us called the Barn till I got on the internet. To me it is less of an offense to the reader as an indication of the writer's mentality. I think when you hear people say, Ole Piss, Leghumpers, scUM (however approapriate) Vile etc. . . I think, there's a person with no respect for their opponents. If you are going to call us Barners or the Barn, I'd prefer you did it here.
The other day you talked about, coming to a Gator board and making certain remarks. I think that is really the only appropriate time to be less than respectful, as long as it is done out of fun. It isn't bitterness as some have suggested. The whole point of smack is raise the ire of the other fans. That's the reason I kept posting the pic of the fish with the lure in its mouth.
I think what a lot of the VS'ers have failed to take into account is that most Auburn fans I know, and especially the ones here have nothing but respect for the other schools in the SEC. When you come here you'll see, mostly reasoned debate and others schools discussed in a way that denotes that respect. When you sit around among fans of a similar ilk and deride the other team all you are accomplishing is an act of mental masturbation.
When you see posts that refer to comments some of your Gator brethren have made, it is no different than the chest pumping posts we saw over there after the LSU game where yall facetiously said yall weren't at the same level as Auburn or LSU. I understand the constant discussion of the fumble/incomplete pass. It is easier to focus on one play where you think you got hosed instead of the rest of the 2d half where you got shut down. That kind of myopia is what fans are known for. What I don't get is when people like JimG8R, state the obvious about getting outplayed and their "Gatorness" is questioned. That is no better than a critical post on TI getting a MOOOO.
