and when britain and france declared war on him, he additionally conquered france and drove britain from the continent. he then conquered greece and yugoslavia, and stationed troops in finland, italy and north africa. germany was recognized as the most formidable fighting force the world had ever seen and hitler even had the audacity to attack the largest army the world had ever known (the red army of russia) and declare war on the united states, a geographically protected, well-industrialized country. germany possessed a deep water navy and a technically sound, well-trained air force to compliment it's army.
i'm sure i'll have to agree to disagree with 99.9% of this board... but to me comparing the present day iraq (which was ROUTED in it's attempt to control kuwait) to 1940s germany is a reach... and a bit of fear-mongering.
